Brief project description

The project "An Innovative Solution for Cyber Security Management of Industrial System of Facility and Process Automation" is implemented over 36 months for research and development of a new product for the market that is intended to solve the problem of insufficient level of cyber security in industrial systems, primarily in critical infrastructure systems. The project will result in a new product, new job creation, intellectual property protection, effective co-operation between the scientific academic community and the private sector, as well as increase in global competitiveness of the company S.C.A.N. d.o.o.

The project included the following activities:
a) Industrial research phase;
b) Experimental development phase;
c) Dissemination of research findings;
d) Project management;
e) Promotion and visibility.

Total project value (acceptable costs): HRK20,495,055.66
Co-financed by the EU: HRK14,079,545.67

Objectives and expected project results

The general objective of the project is to contribute to strengthening competitiveness of the company in cyber security segment, while the specific objective is development of an innovative solution intended for companies and organisations that in their business use industrial systems of automation, control and management – of critical infrastructure systems.

Consequently, the project is intended to conduct research and development in order to plan, develop and validate of an innovative solution. The expected research result is a new breakthrough in the field of research and development in the macroregion and the new result – the product for the Applicant and the Partner.

Project realisation will have positive effects on:

a) An increase of investment in research and development;
b) Establishment of effective co-operation with Science and Research Sector;
c) A radical change in business operations through a launch of a new production branch by combining own R&D, engineering and production capacities;
d) A launch of a new, innovative product on the market;
e) A launch of a new product in the company product range;
f) An increase in future revenue from the sales of the new product;
g) An increase in export from the sale of the new product;
h) An increase in the number of employees;
i) Creation of future research and development capacities.

The realisation of the project proposal named "An Innovative Solution for Cyber Security Management of Industrial System of Facility and Process Automation" is a strategically important move in the development of the company S.C.A.N. d.o.o. The company is planning to continue additionally enhancing the solution in the future, as well as to develop complementary products and new innovations in accordance with the requirements of cyber security market.

The implementation of this project proposal will ensure more specific business operations and conquering new markets, as well as an increase in the number of satisfied clients and creation of recognition in the niche market in which the Applicant operates.
